Laura has an all-too-common journey to (and through) sobriety, a story with many chapters, rich in varied mistakes and successes.
Although the worst of her drinking was in private, she learned how to walk away from alcohol in public. Ever grateful for ongoing love and support of people at TFH SF (an amazing church in San Francisco) and her community of new friends from This Naked Mind, the joy she has found is only made possible through the undeserved mercy and grace she’s received as part of a personal and transformative relationship with Jesus Christ. She knows that she might have just lost a few people in saying that…that many quit drinking "on their own steam" and rugged individualism is very popular. She also knows that truly committing your life to Jesus and truly walking away from alcohol (at the same time!) are brave, potentially scary counter-cultural decisions and there are countless reasons so many people never even consider either choice.
Laura knows that there is peace and freedom and abundance available and freely given to all of us. While she started sharing her story as a form of accountability, she created Supernatural Sobriety to be a place where encouragement, truth and community can be held sacred. She is deeply committed to renewing peace and connection in our fractured digital world through IRL relationships and events. If you are sober-curious, Christian-curious, both - or none of the above! - she hopes that this can be a place where you receive.
Laura lives in San Francisco with her daughter and their new Cavalier King Charles puppy.
